Naomi Campbell |
What do America's terrorist enemies think of supermodel Naomi Campbell's lovey-dovey solidarity meeting this week with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez?
I don't need to speculate. I called a bunch of terrorists and asked for their two cents!
"I think the visit presents a slap in the face to Bush and his government and his policy. ... The fact that she respects Chavez and his ideals can bring more people to follow this step," said Abu Nasser, chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group in the Old City of Nablus in the Northern West Bank.
I recorded our interview. You can hear Abu Nasser sounding off about Campbell by clicking on the audio file, below:
Abu Nasser on Naomi Campbell
Jihad Jaara, the infamous director of the 2002 siege of Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity who was chief of the Al Aqsa Brigades in that city, told me he appreciates "the courage of Campbell and her colleagues who visited Chavez and expressed their solidarity."
"This is a very courageous step that proves that the opposition of the American policy is not only outside the U.S. but also in Bush's own home."
Jaara called Chavez a "great friend of the Palestinian resistance."
The Al Aqsa Brigades, by the way, took responsibility together with the Islamic Jihad terror group for every suicide bombing in Israel the past three years. The Brigades also claimed responsibility for thousands of recent shootings and rocket attacks against civilian population centers.
Campbell's visit yesterday, in which she heaped praise on the terrorists' beloved Chavez as he blasted President Bush and U.S. foreign policy, is just the latest example of botox-brained celebrities urging on global jihad and its supporters.
In my recently released book, "Schmoozing with Terrorists," I petitioned dozens of senior terror leaders to respond on the record to the comments, statements and activities of some of our countries esteemed anti-war liberal Hollywood icons.
(Column continues below)
There's a common threat to their reactions: The terrorists are emboldened by our superstar activists.
Take for example the notorious Sean Penn, another Chavez buddy. Penn has gone on solidarity missions to Iran and Iraq and has made numerous statements against our war on terror.
A few months ago Penn delivered a well-reported speech in solidarity with Iran that I had translated into Arabic for a bunch of terrorists. In the speech, among other things Penn labels Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice 'villainously and criminally obscene people' and implies Iran should get nuclear weapons.
In my book, the terrorists overwhelmingly applauded Penn.
Ala Senakreh, West Bank chief of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terror group, told me he feels "deep respect for Penn."
Brigades' North Gaza commander Abu Hamed called on Penn to help represent his terrorist organization's cause to the "Zionist controlled" world media.
Muslim jihadist leaders I interviewed were also ecstatic about political statements from television talk host and former "The View" personality Rosie O'Donnell, agreeing with many of her outspoken positions.
The terrorists interviewed stated they had never heard of O'Donnell, who made regular headlines with her heated political battles against conservative-leaning "View" co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck.
I informed the terrorists leaders about one instance when O'Donnell argued on air that suspected terrorists jailed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, are people too and asserted the U.S. "robs them of their humanity."
On one episode of "The View," O'Donnell urged Americans not to fear so-called terrorists, calling them mothers and fathers.
One O'Donnell gem the assembled terrorists liked the most was when they were informed O'Donnell raised questions on her online blog about the 9/11 attacks, implying the buildings were brought down in part to destroy documents incriminating oil giant Enron and other major corporations.
"I agree with what this O'Donnell says," gushed Brigades chiefton Ala Senakreh.
Abu Jihad, a leader of the Islamic Jihad terror organization in the northern West Bank town of Jenin, echoed many of O'Donnell's viewpoints, sometimes nearly word-for-word.
In "Schmoozing," I detail how actor Richard Gere may have aided in the Hamas terror group's power grab!
Gere two years ago made a commercial with a leftist U.S.-based group. Purporting to speak "on behalf of the world," Gere urged Palestinians to "get out and vote" in local municipal elections. Well, the Palestinians took Gere's advice and voted en mass for Hamas!
"We thank Richard Gere for his efforts in the historic election of the Palestinian Islamic resistance (Hamas)," stated Abu Abdullah, largely considered one of the most important operational members of Hamas' so-called military wing.
Abdullah asked me to urge Gere to "tell your American government that they should respect the democratic choice of the Palestinians in the elections that Gere promoted and that they should stop undermining the legitimate government of Hamas."
Time and again I watch in frustration as our celebrities champion the causes of jihad. From Jane Fonda through Barbara Steisand through Naomi Campbell.
A lot of people tend to think terrorists live like barbarians in caves. Actually, many terrorists, certainly those in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, reside in well-decorated apartments with all the trappings of a modern production company. They have some of the most advanced communications equipment in the world.
In today's wired world, it's very easy for anyone speaking any language to be updated almost immediately about all kinds of events. This includes America's terror enemies, who pay particularly close attention to news of U.S. domestic opinion regarding our government's Mideast policies.
The terrorists understand that in the U.S. the fight for public opinion is everything – change public opinion, get American citizens to lose their desire to fight and the government and military ultimately must change, as well.
The terrorists time their attacks in part on the status of our national debate and on the American news cycle. Jihad leaders want our war on terror to end and they believe they know how to end it:
Every single terrorist that I spoke to about Iraq in "Schmoozing" pointed at some point during our conversation to the model of Vietnam, in which they said the U.S. was forced to retreat after domestic public approval for the war tanked.
The terrorists told me they were aware of the important role Hollywood had in galvanizing opposition to Vietnam and that they are generally aware now multiple Hollywood heavyweights have been urging the U.S. to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, create dialogue with Iran, and pressure Israel into handing more territory to the Palestinians.
Islamic terrorists loathe our culture; they believe our movies and music are corrupting humanity on earth.
But for the terrorists to win – and they openly state that for them winning means imposing a worldwide Islamic caliphate – the terrorists will accept any help offered and will take advantage of any tools they have at their disposal, apparently including Hollywood.
Do Campbell, Penn and their ilk realize what they are urging on? In one chapter of "Schmoozing" I petition terrorists to explain what life would be like in the U.S. if their brand of Islam dominated. Just take a wild guess at who'd be among the first to have their heads cut off!
